02OVERVIEW

A journey through the whole arc of Morocco.

Morocco is not one country. It's a coastline, a mountain range, an old imperial interior, and a desert. This journey takes the whole arc, north to south, at a pace that lets each part land.

You begin on the Atlantic in Rabat, take the high-speed line to Tangier where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic, then turn inland: the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, the Roman columns of Volubilis, two full days inside the Fes medina. Then the long, beautiful crossing to the desert's edge — a morning of fossil beds and bread ovens at Rissani, and by afternoon you're in a turban, in a 4x4, then on a camel, moving into the dunes of Erg Chebbi as the light goes.

Coming back west you take the gorges, sleep beneath the ksar at Aït Benhaddou, cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, and land in Marrakech with three nights to actually be there — a cooking class, a city day, a free day, and one evening around a Moroccan family's dinner table.

Twelve travellers, no more. Hosted the entire way by Karim, Moroccan-born, with close to a decade of directing tours across this country.

03HIGHLIGHTS

What makes this journey itself.

01

Erg Chebbi, named and committed — a night at a desert camp in the real dunes, reached by 4x4 and camel.

02

Al Boraq high-speed rail to Tangier — Africa’s fastest train, and a far better morning than the same journey by road.

03

Two full days in Fes — long enough for the medina to stop being a maze and start being a place.

04

Dinner in a Moroccan family home in Marrakech — Karim’s own family, around their table.

05

Tetouan and Chefchaouen with a licensed local guide — the northern cities, taken at their own pace.

06

Volubilis and Meknes on the road to Fes — Roman mosaics still lying in open ground.

07

A free day in Marrakech, with three optional excursions you choose only if you want them.

The journey, one day at a time.

06ACCOMMODATION

Every property named before you book.

Every property below is named before you book. Look them up.

Rooms are comparable across the group — we don't book properties where one traveller ends up in a noticeably better room than another. That's a deliberate rule, and it's cost us hotels we personally love.

07GUEST STORIES
