Every riad, kasbah and desert camp appears on your itinerary by name before you commit a cent. Look each one up yourself — we'd rather you did.
We tell you exactly where you sleep in the desert: Erg Chebbi, reached by 4x4 and camel, arriving as the light goes.
Karim hosts. His father's Morocco company runs the ground. Two generations, one name on the door — and a family dinner table in Marrakech you'll actually sit at.
This suits you if you're curious, reasonably fit, over 35, and you'd rather understand a place than photograph it. If you travel to be let in rather than shown around. Solo travellers, couples and friends all fit here.

Karim Errachiki is Moroccan-born, Virginia-based, and has spent close to a decade directing tours across his own country. He walks the route before you do, sleeps in the rooms, eats the meals, and is at the airport on Day 1 and again on Day 14.
